According to IDMC's Internal Displacement Updates, between 1 and 31 July 2026 South Sudan recorded 273,209 conflict-driven internal displacements across 5 events, a figure above both the 50,000 threshold and the 90th percentile of the country's own monthly record over the previous 18 months (119,178). The largest share is attributed to communal violence in Warrap, reported by OCHA, which also reported 10,000 displacements in Kajo-keji, Central Equatoria, on 14 July 2026. The remaining 3 events, reported by IOM DTM South Sudan and linked to communal violence in Western Bahr el Ghazal and countrywide armed conflict, account for between 855 and 984 displacements each.
