Source: IDMC Global Internal Displacement Database. Annual figures are validated; recent-event figures are preliminary. Stock = people still displaced at year-end; new displacements = movements during the year. The two are different metrics and cannot be summed. Recent IDU events are deduplicated per event: where an event has only Triangulation estimates (alternative source reports), the highest single-row figure is kept to avoid counting the same displaced population multiple times across daily reports.
